As at 15th August (Saturday) at 2.57 p.m., I have received 18 comments. I enjoyed reading what you have learnt about symmetry through watching the video. From your comments, I have 3 questions to ask all of you from 4 Love;

1. Does it mean that when a shape can be divided into 2 equal parts, it will have a line of symmetry?

2. Who can give me an example to show that a shape (eg square, rectangle, parallelogram or rhombus) will have a line of symmetry when it is folded along its diagonal?

3. Who can give me an example to show that a shape (eg square, rectangel, parallelogram, rhombus etc) will not have a line of symmetry when it is folded along its diagonal?

Give your answers by posting a comment in this blog.

Supriya wonders if symmetry is related to Maths as it does not have any numbers. Is there anyone from 4 Love who would like to respond to this question by posting a comment.

I have learnt that symmetry is found everywhere in the world around us , such as nature, architecture and in art . A figure has a line of symmetry when it can be folded so that each of the two halves are identical. When a shape is divided into two equal parts , horizontally, vertically or diagonally they are symmetrical . Not all figures have lines of symmetry . The line(s) which divides the figure into two equal parts , is called the line of symmetry or the line of reflection. If a figure is divided and the parts match each other , they are congruent . Different figures have different numbers of line symmetry. Circles has an unlimited or an infinite numbers of line symmetry.

Thank you Mrs Seto for letting us see this very interesting video,it has make me learnt a lot of symmetry.

I have learned that symmetry can be found anywhere in the world around us.E.g nature architecture and in art.Symmetry is when a figure can be divided into two equal parts.I have also learned that not all figures can have symmetry line.E.g Our face figure. Some figures can have a lot of symmtry line.E.g triangle and cicles.Thats about all I have learned.Once again, THANK YOU, I HAVE LEARNED A LOT.

Through the video,I have lernt that in our daily lives,we see many symmetrical figures. When a shape is folded vertically, horizontaly or diagnolly and they fit each other, the line of symmetry is formed. Before I learnt this chapter by reading the text book, I could not understand what the line of symmetry means. Now,i can answer any question on the chapter, symmetry. Thanks ,Mrs Seto for taking such difficuties and posting a video for us.I check the blog regularly. But I have this question in mind, how is symmetry related to maths? It does not have any numbers, doesn`t it?

I learnt about different lines symmetry like verticall, horizontal and diagnoll. Not in our books but in our daily lives, we see symmetrical figures. Now i can iearn indepentdently and now days, pupils do not even take a iook at the book but after you intodused online educational games, they could study well.I support you to set up a blog for future classes.

Mrs Seto I have learnt about that symmetry can be found around us
and the video clip really theach me about symmetry.Example shapes that are symmetry, circle, square, rectangle and lots more.

I learnt about different lines of symmetery from the video clip.It can be found in almost anything e.g:nature,pen.A symmetry is divided in two equal parts.

The video made me learnt about symmetery. They can be found in everywhere, e.g rugs, poeple, alphabat and signs.Symmetery are fold into halves and they must be macth together to have the same picture.Thank you Mrs Seto for the video you had put up

I have learnt about the different lines of symmetry. Two examples of symmetry is vertical lines of symmetry and horizontal lines of symmetry. The picture must match the other side of the pictures. If the pictures does not match the other side of the picture,it is not a symmetry.

Symmetry is an exact match of two halves. Examples of these shapes that fit this criteria are :Squares, Rectangles, Circles and many other shapes. It can be found in Architecture and Nature.

Mrs Seto, thanks a lot for this great video. I have learnt about the importance of symmetry around us.

Now I know about symmetry. The video was very interesting. There are three types of symmetry lines. They are diagonal, horizontal and vertical.

I learn that symmetry is all around us.I want to find out whether symmetry is in outerspace and whether we can use symmetry in everything. i liked the video clip it showed me how we reconise symmetry around us.

i have learnt that the line of symmetry is to divide the shapes into equal parts.I also know that it can be found everywhere such as in nature in in the beautiful world that we are living in!The line of symmetry can be horizontally or vertically or in other directions.T other name for the line of symmetry can also be line of reflection! Not all shapes have lines of lines of symmetry. The shape has how many lines of symmetry ,it depends on how many equal parts the shape can divide.Thank you Mrs Seto for posting up such wonderful videos for us to learn ore about maths!

Symmetry can be divide into two parts. It can be find in everywhere, but not all the things can be symmetry,it can be horizontally or vertically or in other directions.Thank you Mrs Seto for posting up the symmetry video for us to learn more!

Mrs Seto,i learnt that symmetry can be found around us in real life.I also learnt that not all things are symmetrical. Some have horizontal, vertical and many types of line of symmetry.

Thank you,Mrs Seto for posting this wonderful symmetry video for us.

Thank you Mrs Seto For putting up this post so that we can learn about symmetry.I actually did not know anything about symmetry until know.Ihave learned a lot just by watching those videos.Circles are more ecxiting than they seem to me know. Thanks again!!

Alvinn Mrs Seto, from this video I have learnt that a object can have more than one line of symmetry.I think that symmetry is a easy subject to learn after you understood it. Thank you Mrs Seto posting us this wonderful symmetry video. I hope you post more of this kind of video for us to understand more about the subject you are teaching in the future.

I have learn a lot more about symmetry after watching this video.
I learn that symmetry is all around us. Not all things can be symmetry. Symmetry is anything that can be divided into two equal parts. Some symmetry figures can have horizontal, vertical and other lines of symmetry. I have learn a lot more after watching this video clip.Thank you for putting this movie up, Mrs Seto. I hope that you can put up more of this exciting video clips about the topics you are going to teach us in future.

Thank you Mrs Seto for letting us see this wonderful movie.

Before i watch this movie,i did not know that symmetry can be every where arond me.I have learned that symmertry is a figure that can be divided into two equal parts.I have also learned that some figure can have a lot of symmetry line.E.g circle, square.
THANK YOU

Mrs Seto I have learnt symmetry before but after you told us to watch the movie I undestand even better and want you to put some more movie about symmetry.Symmetry can be anything around us.Symmetry is lines that can be diagonal, horizontal and vertical.Symmetry can be found in nature, achitecture and an art

Mrs Seto, thank you for putting up a wonderful video and i hope you could more!

Mr Seto, the video you put up is educational and interesting. It was fun learning symmetry using technology.I hope you give us many more opportunities like this. Learning through computers is fun.We can recognise symmetric figures by checking if dividing the shape/figure into two equal halves. The line whish divides the shape is a line of symmetry.A figure may have many lines of symmetry like horizontal and vertical.
I only can write the answer for no.1 as the other two questions needs answers in figures/shapes.The answer for no.1 is:
No.It does NOT mean that when a shape can be divided into 2 equal parts, it will have a line of symmetry.
I am sure you(Mrs Seto)have made sacrifices and gone through difficulties to make understand symmetry.We(4 love) should be grateful for you to have us as our teacher.we are sorry for the torture we gave you.
Meet you in school on Monday. Have a good day!!!!!!!!!

I have learned alot about symmetry through this video. Now,I know what is a symmetry line and I can tell how many symmetry lines does a certain kind of shape have.

Thanks for putting up this
movie for us.

Rika says,

Thank you Mrs Seto for putting this website on our blog.I have learnt a lot from that video.

Symmetry can be found in nature, achitecture and many more.A line of symmetry can be horizontal or vertical.Even letters have a line of symmetry.

Once again thank you for posting this video for us to understand and learn symmetry!

The video was interesting than I thought it woild be.This video helps me to understand the topic,Symmetry. The line of symmetry is formed when two halves are folded and they match each other.Thank You,Mrs Seto.I think you have a great passion.I think learning with technology is the best way.Supriya has come up with an intelligent question.I am thinking on a solution.Maybe there is a link between Maths and Symmetry.

The movie is very interesting. I think symmetry is related to maths.

Now i understand what is symmetry
The movie is intersting. Symmetry is a figure divided into halves by a line of symmetry. i am really willing t learn symmetry.

The game is very fun.I enjoyed trying them.
The answer for questions 1 is
No.For example, when you fold a rectangle diagnolly, the sides don`t fit each other. But,when you cut out the two pieces and turn over 1 of the pieces, they fit each other.

(Mrs Seto,I will cut out the shapes and answer the other 2 questions)

I learn alot from the video was easy to understand and the game was very fun to play but there is too littie questions
